Play Therapy
Suitable for children with a wide variety of emotional and behavioural issues, one to one play therapy encourages the child to communicate through play. Many children struggle to verbalise their feelings and experiences, but through play and the presence of the play therapist they learn to express, face and deal with these issues.
Suitable from 3 years, play therapy is beneficial for children with issues such as anxiety, low self-esteem, bullying, bereavement, illness and much more. The therapist provides the safety of the play room and forms a therapeutic relationship with the child, where confidence is gained, and healing begins.
Group Play Therapy
Play therapy with small groups of 4 - 6 children can be a very effective, fun way of addressing difficult life events such as bereavement or separation, - or for child dealing with poor social skills, anxiety, bereavement, bullying or low self-esteem.
Group play therapy runs for a set number of weeks depending on the needs of the specific groups, usually between 6 - 12 weeks. Using the same platform as one to one therapy, Group therapy has the added elements of learning from each other and discovering how others may share similar issues.
Soulkids
After school, confidence building groups aimed at sensitive kids, children struggling with worries, confidence issues, or struggling with peers.
FUN-based classes using the creative mediums, such as puppetry, art, team building activities, role play, mindfulness and music activities are used to build on achievement and success, create friendships and support them while developing resilience and coping skills.
Baby & Toddler development classes
There are 3 age groups for young babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. The aim of the classes is to encourage social skills, learning and development skills, through music and fun activities.
Babies and toddlers, along with their favourite adult have fun with puppets, playing percussion instruments, singing action songs, dancing and sensory play, all the while working on gross and fine motor skills, coordination and social skills.
Soulchild Play Therapy in Schools
Trish also runs play therapy and group therapy in primary schools. Working closely with teachers and parents, children gain all the benefits of therapy in the familiar surroundings of their school.
